Douglas MacArthur
My work
Doug MacArthur is a professional actor, voice teacher, dialect coach, and Professor of Theatre & Dramatic Arts at the University of Lethbridge, Canada.
He has participated in numerous stage productions in Canada and the United States (Mass Appeal, Not About Heroes, Bankrupt!, Sure Thing, Digital Cosmetics, Macbeth, Taming of the Shrew, and Antigone).
He graduated from York University with an MFA in Acting along with a Voice Teaching Diploma. During the spring of 2000 and 2001 he worked as an associate faculty member at the Canadian National Voice Intensive.
He is a long time collaborator and student of Roy Hart work an is an original cast member of the 2019 production of Zauber, directed by Ian Magilton and inspired by Mozart’s The Magic Flute.
Doug is also the producer, director and co-founder of the independent theatre company, The Third Eye Collective. He was instrumental in the creation of the Samish Island Festival of Arts in Washington State and returns each year to share his passion for acting and voice at the festival as a guest instructor.
